Writing on the Wall is a single-channel public projection that magnifies the presence of everyday people against the architectural surface. 120 participants from the streets of DUMBO collectively answer a single question: “What’s one piece of advice that changed your life?” Their words emerge as fleeting graffiti on the walls—brief moments of shared wisdom, left behind for anyone passing by.

On view on DUMBO Archway (both sides) and Susan Smith McKinney Steward park as part of the Dumbo Projection Project Volume 6: Unexpected Delight, May 1 - May 25, 2025.

a mirror that raises people’s awareness of the surrounding space and their connection to others. a concave mirror encourages self-reflection by focusing attention inward, while a convex mirror reveals ore of the environment and the people within it. Using the nature of reflections, we let users rediscover and rebuild their connection to the shared space and the community around them.

Living Through Us

a speculative collage of the legendary New York club Paradise Garage — unfolds through visuals and sound. Weaving together personal archives and stories of prominent House Music figure and "Garage Head" Michele Saunders, the work is built from artist’s interview and conversations with Saunders, and their own interpretation of a place that holds many folds of memories through generations.

With the interactive soundscape encompassed by Saunders’ voice, the piece invites the audience to explore a space that bridges the past and present, through the feeling that lives on within us.
